Luciano Pavarotti, the most famous of the Three Tenors, has lost an appeal against Italian tax authorities demanding 5.1 million euros in back taxes and fines.
The court, in the northern town of Modena, dismissed the opera singer's claim that he was a resident of tax-free Monaco. It ruled that properties owned by him and his family in Modena made him liable for Italian taxes
