Business consulting and systems integration firm, BearingPoint announced on Tuesday that, in conjunction with Microsoft Corp, it has created an electronic filing system designed to benefit state courts across the US.
Explaining that the process aims to streamline the process for filing and managing court documents, Gary Miglicco, BearingPoint's National Director for eGovernment Services predicted that:
'The benefits of this solution will accelerate the adoption of electronic filing services by courts and by attorneys across the country.'
BearingPoint intends to offer the solution as a managed service, which will mean that state courts can participate in the scheme without expending large amounts of time and resources in acquiring, building, and operating their own e-filing systems.
In a statement released this week, the two companies revealed that the system is currently being piloted in Texas.
