Manx Telecom Launches New Range of E-Commerce, Net Hosting Services

by Amanda Banks, Tax-News.com, London

24 July 2001

Manx Telecom has developed a new range of Internet hosting products aimed at sole traders and small to medium-sized businesses. The range is designed to offer everything necessary to take businesses of this size from an 'entry level' presence on the Internet right up to an e-commerce situation.

The advice available from Manx Telecom's IMS Business Products Team will help companies to choose the level of Internet presence which is right for them with the option of adding to it later. At its most basic, the new range of products offers an e-mail facility and connectivity to the Internet which is supported by virus scanning and SPAM protection to filter out junk e-mail.

The next step is a web page offering simple, one-page advertisement, which gives contact details and is available to customers 24 hours a day. For businesses looking for something more to offer their customers, the new product range can be used to develop the web page into a whole site, offering information on products and services.

The top service is the provision of an e-commerce facility which allows customers to buy products and services from a company web site. Manx Telecom can e-commerce enable small to medium sized businesses through their Secure e-Pay facility, and offers an Island-based secure e-payment platform which can take multi-currency and Sterling-based transactions, enabling Island businesses to market their products globally.

Manx Telecom's Business ISP Manager, Mike Stanton, said: 'With this new product set companies can start small with the comfort of knowing that their solution can grow in scale and sophistication in line with their Internet ambitions.'
