Maltese Multi-Manager Funds Enjoy A Successful First Year

One year after launching on the Maltese market, the Vilhena Multi-Manager Funds have achieved impressive returns, placing them at the forefront of Valletta Fund Management's product range whilst displaying the benefits to investors of multi-manager funds, according to the Times of Malta.

For the period from launch on June 22, 2004 up to August 31, 2005, VFM have announced that the Vilhena European Multi-Manager Fund denominated in euros achieved an annualised return of 18.59 per cent, the Vilhena UK Multi-Manager Fund denominated in Sterling achieved an annualised return of 17.98 per cent, whilst the US Dollar-denominated Vilhena US Multi-Manager Fund achieved an annualised return of 8.10 per cent.

Kenneth Farrugia, General Manager of Valletta Fund Management, stated that the popularity and success of the Vilhena funds was down to the recognition by investors that no single investment management company can be the best in all areas of investment.

"Multi-manager funds can thus be the ideal solution for all those investors seeking to achieve long-term investment goals but find it somewhat difficult to select the right funds," Mr Farrugia said.

The Vilhena Multi-Manager funds are highly accessible, and investors can get on board the funds for a minimum investment of EUR1,500, US$1,500 or GBP1,000. Investors may also participate through a Monthly Investment Plan from as little as Lm20 (EUR47) per month.

"Leading fund managers agree that in today's volatile market, the key to a healthy investment portfolio is diversification," Mr Farrugia added.

"In effect, multi-manager funds provide investors with a wide selection of top performing funds available from leading fund managers around the world. This diversification is a means towards reducing risk and maximising return on investment," he observed.
