A major new hedge fund is set to launch in Dublin with the aim of attracting some EUR250 million in assets, the Irish press has reported this week.
The new hedge fund, to be known as Kinsale Capital, is reportedly in the final stages of preparation prior to its launch.
It is expected that the entity will be headed up by former Goodbody Stockbrokers and Merrill Lynch employee Gearoid Doyle, while it is thought that Dr Ivo Kovachev, an experienced manager at top performing funds, will fill the role of chief investment officer.
A number of prominent financial institutions are said to have committed to investing in Kinsale, whose hedge funds will also be available to high-net-worth investors.
