During a recent visit to Portugal, Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn and his Portuguese counterpart Luis Amado signed a protocol amending the existing double taxation agreement (DTA) in place between the two countries, and introducing an article providing for the exchange of information upon request in accordance with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) model convention.
Luxembourg’s Economy Ministry Jeannot Krecké also had the opportunity during the course of the visit to hold talks with his Portuguese counterpart José Vieira da Silva on current economic and financial matters.
During a seminar in Lisbon, designed to strengthen economic and commercial relations between the two countries, Luxembourg’s Head of State the Grand Duke and Economy Minister Jeannot Krecké presented a number of opportunities within Luxembourg’s economic, financial and banking sectors to Portuguese investors.
