The World Trade Organisation revealed this week that Luxembourg has offered EUR450,000 to the Doha Development Agenda Global Trust Fund (DDAGTF).
This donation will finance technical assistance programmes and training activities for developing and least developed countries. The aim is to better adapt their practices and laws to WTO rules and disciplines, improve the implementation of their obligations and enhance the exercise of their membership rights.
WTO Director General Pascal Lamy announced that:
“I am very pleased of Luxembourg’s support to developing countries through the DDAGTF. It will improve their participation in the multilateral trading system”.
This donation represents an 80% increase on last year’s contribution; Luxembourg’s participation to the DDAGTF now amounts to EUR900,000.
