The Luxembourg Parliament has ratified the United States double tax treaty. The US Senate has also ratified the tax treaty, but this ratification will only go into effect when the Luxembourg Parliament also ratifies the Treaty on Mutual Legal Asisstance in Criminal Matters. If Luxembourg takes this step in 1999, the tax treaty will be in effect from 1st January 2000.
