Liechtenstein’s government has announced that the next informal gathering of German-speaking finance ministers is due to be held in Vaduz on May 25.
On this date, Liechtenstein’s Prime Minister and Finance Minister Klaus Tschütscher has agreed to meet with his German counterpart, Wolfgang Schäuble, with Austria’s Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor, Josef Pröll, with Switzerland’s Federal Councillor Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf and with Luxembourg’s Finance Minister Luc Frieden.
Commenting on the forthcoming meeting, Prime Minister Tschütscher stated that he was delighted that the principality would this year host the friendly gathering. During the course of the meeting, key questions and issues in the area of tax and finance policy will be discussed in depth, Tschütscher noted, adding that previous meetings have demonstrated that personal contact among the ministers has served to strengthen mutual trust as well as to find solutions in the balance of interest.
