Although Liechtenstein, in common with many other offshore centres is taking an active part in the international search for terrorist assets, the principality's Chief Prosecutor, Robert Wallner, has announced that no real leads have been found in the Principality.
He said that two companies with the term 'Al Taqwa' (the name of Osama Bin Laden's organisation) in their names had been found on the country's commercial register, but that there was no real evidence to link them with the terrorist organisation. 'All investigations have so far led to no concrete lead in Liechtenstein,' he admitted to the Liechtenstein News.
Not too far away, though, according to Swiss media reports, the Al Taqwa Management Organisation based in Lugano is said to have had strong financial connections with Islamic fundamentalist groups.
