The Liechtensteiner Vaterland reported this week that the new online portal for the jurisdiction's Government and the Pricely House was launched on January 28, one month later than was originally predicted.

According to the Head of Government, Otmar Hasler, the new web site is designed to be a common internet platform for the Princely House and the State, Economy, Culture, Sports, and Tourism departments of the Government.

Speaking at the launch of the new site, he explained that the intention was to present the principality: 'in all its political, economical, cultural, historical and tourist aspects' to a global audience.

The Liechtensteiner Vaterland revealed that the idea for an updated internet portal had been sparked by suggestions on how to display art collections housed in Liechtenstein on the internet. Interest in the project was so great that it was decided that the site should represent a platform for all aspects of life in the jurisdiction.
