During a recent general assembly meeting of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA), Liechtenstein’s tax administration was unanimously declared a new member.
According to the Liechtenstein administration, as a result of its new membership, the Principality’s tax administration is now a full partner in one of the most important international tax organizations.
Commenting on the decision, Liechtenstein’s Prime Minister Klaus Tschütscher stated that joining the tax organization enables the Principality to have a say and to vote in future IOTA general assembly meetings, while at the same time gaining access to their seminars, publications and workshops. Membership also enables Liechtenstein to have a deeper insight into current topics and challenges facing other tax administrations, Tschütscher added.
Founded in 1997, the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations is a non-profit organization of European tax administrations. In this forum, all tax administrations in Europe and Russia meet regularly to exchange of views on the practical issues of tax administration.
