by Robin Pilgrim, LawAndTax-News.com, London

06 October 2005

According to a recent survey conducted by The Lawyer news service, Ireland's top five law firms bring in annual fees totalling around EUR250 million.

The poll revealed that Arthur Cox tops the bill with a turnover of more than EUR66 million, followed by McCann Fitzgerald, A&L Goodbody, Matheson Ormsby Prentice and William Fry.

Observing that the profits of the top five Irish firms are "notably better" than their mid-size London counterparts, The Lawyer went on to describe the Irish legal market as "one of the most vibrant and wealthy legal markets in the world".

The poll further revealed that the majority of Irish law firms expect continued growth over the coming years.
