Ladbroke, the betting and gaming division of the Hilton Group, yesterday announced the promotion of Chris Bell to head Ladbroke's global e-commerce and gaming division, while John O'Reilly moves up from his job in charge of the Gibraltar-based Ladbrokes International to become Bell's deputy as Managing Director, E-Commerce.
The company said that by relinquishing day-to-day responsibility for Ladbroke's UK betting businesses, Bell would be able to concentrate on strengthening the company's position in betting and gaming through the new distribution channels being created by technological developments. He will also play a leading role in co-ordinating the group's input into the current review of UK betting and gaming legislation.
These moves follow the company's announcement last month of a major strengthening of its focus on e-commerce
