Kuwait’s Minister of Finance, Mostafa Al-Shamaly, and Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Lee Yi Xian, signed an agreement for the promotion and protection of investments on November 5, it has been announced.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti government noted that the agreement is important in the boosting of economic ties with one of East Asia’s most important economies, as it provides security for Kuwaiti investments in Singapore and vice versa.
A statement from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance announced that: “This agreement aims to provide protection for investments and capital in both countries, and will facilitate the establishment of profitable joint ventures."
The statement further explained that the Convention provides for the promotion and protection of all types of assets and rights including property rents, mortgages, stocks and bonds, and intellectual property.
