During the course of his two-day official visit to Kuwait, Slovenian President Danilo Turk signed two cooperation agreements designed to enhance trade relations between the two countries.
The two countries’ finance ministers, Mustafa Al-Shimali on behalf of Kuwait and Franc Krizanic for Slovenia, signed the agreements, which included a convention for the avoidance of double taxation and fiscal evasion, and an agreement on economic and technical cooperation.
When the tax agreement enters into force, after it is ratified, it will remove barriers to trade and investment by laying a beneficial legal framework that will assign the taxing rights of both countries. Both delegations expressed hope that the agreement would expand opportunities for entrepreneurs in the two countries, and discussed ways of further fostering bilateral relations in a number of areas.
