It emerged last week that David Nickson, previously a tax partner at Ernst and Young, has joined KPMG as a tax partner within the Information, Communication and Entertainment (ICE) practice.
Within the practice, he will be a key member of KPMG’s media and technology teams in London, advising on cross-border structuring and financing, and intellectual property planning.
Having originally trained and worked at KPMG’s Birmingham office from 1993 to 2000, David joined Ernst and Young as a partner in 2001.
Commenting on his new role, Mr Nickson, announced that:
“I am delighted to be returning to KPMG at this immensely exciting time for media and technology businesses. Convergence of technologies, fixed and mobile telephony, broadband and TV is changing the landscape for both traditional broadcasters and telephone companies. This, together with the e-commerce boom and creation of virtual worlds such as ‘Second Life’ are presenting new opportunities and new challenges for business.”
