John Kerry Promises New 'Contract' With Middle Class Over Tax

Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry is promising to deliver hundreds of billions of dollars in tax cuts to the middle classes.

Resurrecting a campaign slogan used by the Republicans in the 1990s, Kerry last Friday promised a new ‘contract’ with the middle classes if elected to the presidency.

Kerry has accused the Bush administration of failing the middle classes in favour of giving tax cuts to the wealthier sections of society, and claims that he will deliver three times more tax relief than the current President, accusing Bush of putting the middle-class in a “world of hurt”.

“The middle-class is struggling like never before, yet this President lavished tax cuts on wealthy Americans and stubbornly refuses to change his failed policies or propose any new solutions,” commented Kerry spokesperson Chad Clanton.

“John Kerry offers a new economic plan to change the direction of this country, which includes three times as much tax relief for middle-class families,” he added.

According to Kerry's tax plans, middle class families can expect to benefit from health coverage tax cuts to the tune of $177 billion as well as $50 billion in tax breaks towards the cost of funding college education.

The Democrats are also promising an additional $225 billion in new tax cuts for middle income earners.
