Jersey law firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune announced this week that it will be launching an operation in the Cayman Islands next month, following the hire of Patrick Schmid, Owen Jones and Stacey Overholt from Maples and Calder.
The three former Maples lawyers will join Mourant as partners in its Grand Cayman operation, and will be supported by Mourant's existing UK offices.
Giving details regarding the planned launch, Mourant managing partner, Tim Herbert explained that:
"Our Cayman practice will focus on international financial business, including structured finance and capital markets, asset and project finance, derivatives and private equity and hedge funds."
