During an exhibition it was hosting, called The Communications Revolution, Jersey Telecom announced a five-year investment programme aimed at keeping the island in the forefront of technological development. The ADSL technology which the company had recently trialled successfully would be a key element in its plans, and will be widely available on the island in 2000. The company also announced JTfree, a free Internet service, following up on the launch of JThighway, a 128Kbit/s dial-up service. A number of other business-friendly Internet services would shortly be on offer.
