The States of Jersey has published its consultation paper on the reform of the jurisdiction's taxation structure and is seeking responses from interested parties in the next six weeks.
The paper, entitled ‘Jersey’s Taxation Structure – A Goods and Service Tax – The right way for Jersey?’ outlines the reasons for considering a goods and services tax (GST) and the various alternatives that are available.
Then consultation paper, produced by Crown Agents, a UK Consultant, on behalf of the Finance and Economics Committee, gives details of a series of public meetings which will take place on 16th, 24th and 29th November.
Crown Agents are also seeking written responses, and these can be made through Jersey Finance or a Professional Association.
The deadline for responses has been set for Friday, 3rd December.
