The Jersey Finance and Economics Committee is to invite members of the public to sit upon the board which considers tax appeals, it was announced last week.
The Committee has recently taken a decision to increase the panel membership from five to eight, and is seeking applicants who can give three years' service to the board.
Whilst candidates need not be experts in the field of taxation, the Commission recommends that they be financially-minded. However, in the interests of impartiality, new members are barred from having an active interest in any trade or business.
