Jersey on Wednesday hosted the annual meeting of representatives from the Crown Dependencies.
The meeting provides a forum for discussing areas of common interest and is an opportunity for the islands to work together for their mutual benefit.
Jersey’s Chief Minister, Senator Frank Walker, welcomed delegations from Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Alderney and Sark.
Leading the delegations were: Deputy Mike Torode, Guernsey’s Chief Minister; the Hon J A Brown MHK, Chief Minister of the Isle of Man; Sir Norman Browse, President of the States of Alderney; and Roger Olsen, President of Sark’s General Purposes and Advisory Committee.
Delegates considered a number of topics, including the further development of the islands’ international profiles, and their relationships with international organisations such as the British-Irish Council.
Economic and strategic issues affecting the Crown Dependencies were also on the agenda, including the finance industry, immigration and passports, and co-operation on criminal justice matters.
