28 April 2004

Jersey Finance Limited, the representative body of the island's finance industry, announced last Friday changes to the composition of its Board which are to take immediate effect.

As a result of the changes, two senior industry figures, Jonathan White, Chairman of the Ogier Group and Clive Barton, Chairman of Moore Stephens Europe Limited, have been appointed.

Jonathan White, whose legal experience spans 25 years, first joined the law firm then known as Ogier & Le Cornu in 1985. He was appointed Managing Partner of the firm prior to its merger with Le Masurier, Giffard and Poch in 1995. He has been Chairman since 2000 and led the 1995 merger and the more recent merger with Cayman Islands law firm Boxalls.

He replaces Clive Jones, who stepped down from the Jersey Finance Board at the end of last year, after serving for three years.

The Directors have also taken the opportunity to broaden industry representation on the Board by additionally appointing Clive Barton who was first appointed Senior Partner at Moore Stephens in 1981 and is currently Managing Partner responsible for the Moore Stephens Offshore Group of offices.

“We are delighted that two such senior professionals from the legal and accountancy professions are willing to find the time to contribute their immense experience to the work of Jersey Finance,” commented Pierre Horsfall, CBE, Chairman of the Board.
