Jersey Finance Hails 2004 London Conference As 'Best Event Yet'

Responses from Jersey’s 3rd Annual London Conference, organised by Jersey Finance in April this year have been very positive, with London delegates and Jersey Finance Members both describing the event as the "best yet".

In a survey of delegates who attended the Annual Conference, every respondent rated the event’s value at seven or higher out of ten (compared with 74 per cent last year). All respondents also said that they would be interested in attending future Jersey Finance events.

Further endorsements for both the Conference and the Island’s Finance Industry came as 96% of the London-based respondents revealed that it was possible, likely or highly likely that they would do more business with Jersey as a result of the Conference.

This was complemented by the replies from the Jersey delegates, 96% of whom rated the value of the Conference to Jersey and its Finance Industry at eight or higher out of ten.

Jersey Finance Chief Executive, Phil Austin, said that the feedback had been extremely positive and helpful.

"We are delighted that the Conference has been so successful once more," he announced. "The number of delegates at this year’s event surpassed the total of previous years, and their replies indicate that the Conference is steadily gaining strength, and increasing in value."

"One particularly encouraging statistic is that this year, 79 per cent of respondents rated the Conference in terms of knowledge gained at seven or higher out of ten, which compares very favourably with last year’s figure of 35 per cent, and reflects the excellent quality of the presentations," he added.

Overall, 290 delegates attended the Conference at the Renaissance London Chancery Court Hotel on 28th April.

Of these, 185 were legal and financial professionals from London, while a further 76 were Jersey Finance Members, 14 were local invited guests, seven were Jersey Finance representatives, and eight were journalists.
