It emerged recently that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the regulatory authorities in Jersey and Italy, designed to formalise the existing co-operative relationship between the two countries.
The MoU, which was signed last month, provides for increased co-operation and information sharing on financial services regulatory issues, such as insider trading, manipulation of the market, or the unauthorised provision of financial services.
According to reports, at the signing of the MoU, regulators in Jersey and Italy committed themselves to providing full assistance, defining confidentiality constraints, and establishing effective information exchange procedures.
