Qatar and Japan have concluded a memorandum of understanding on the tax treatment of income resulting from shipping and air transport between the two countries. The agreement will ensure that affected companies will avoid double taxation, through reciprocal exemptions from income tax for income resulting from travel between the two countries.
The MoU was signed by the Director of Qatar’s Revenue and Taxation Department, a sub-section of the Economy Ministry, and by Japanese Ambassador to Qatar Yukio Kitazume.
A number of other MoUs were also signed at the ceremony.
