Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Silvan Shalom this week signed agreements with the governments of Belgium and Luxembourg in the field of taxation.

The agreement with Belgium will heighten cooperation between the customs authorities of both countries and seek to prevent customs evasion and smuggling through the exchange of information on suspected smugglers.

Meanwhile, the agreement with Luxembourg will prevent the double taxation of income for companies and individuals doing business in both countries through the issue of tax credits which will apply to income and capital gains taxes.
