The Isle of Man has once again received the award for the "Best Offshore Financial Services Centre" at the International Money Marketing annual awards ceremony held at Vinopolis in London's South Bank. The Island was chosen from a shortlist of five which included Jersey, Guernsey, Dublin and Luxembourg.
The Isle of Man's standing in the international financial services market continues to be recognised with the International Money Marketing awards following the Offshore Financial Review Awards for Excellence (OFFEX Awards) at the end of 1999. At the OFFEX Awards, the Island won the Best Offshore Location for Life Assurance Business and also took the award for the Best Offshore Location for Investment Business.

Walker, who received the Award on behalf of the Isle of Man, said

"We are delighted to have been voted the Best Offshore Financial
Services Centre for the fifth year in a row. This is a prestigious
award which, along with the other awards that we have won, confirms
our position as a world class international finance centre".
