Barclays Private Clients International Limited chose to launch its new electronic banking system known as ICeB at a function on the Isle of Man recently.
The launch was held at Manx telecom's headquarters and was attended by senior management figures from Barclays International Banking including managing director John Eaton and wholesale director Adrian Crichton, as well as senior managers from Manx Telecom. Also in attendance as guests were prominent clients of the new system, amongst them several IoM leading corporate service providers.
Addressing the audience was Barclays Private Clients International's managing director Tim Parkes who predicted a "rosy" future for the new business which was set up on the Island in May this year.
The system itself is designed for use by the international corporate sector, and has been described by Mr Crichton as a "Barclays branch in your office". According to Manx Telecom business internet solutions manager Mike Stanton, the system is "a very strong application" and the developers have gone "a very long way to ensure (the system's) security.
