13 February 2001

IofM.net, the free Isle of Man Internet Service Provider (ISP) has recently joined forces with a new infrastructure provider, UK-based Entanet International, to power its Internet service in the Isle of Man. It replaces Powernet.

In the Isle of Man press, Malcolm Macdonald, managing director of IofM.net, commented: ‘We have been very impressed by Entanet’s technical capabilities and the remarkable speed with which they have worked to bring our project online.'

He continued: 'IofM.net has carved a very successful niche in the internet and web hosting market, specialising as we do in servicing the Manx market place. Entanet was chosen as it already services more than 130 ISPs in the UK under its VIPER programme.'

The new partnership will offer significant benefits to Internet users. Mr Macdonald said: 'As a rapidly expanding internet services provider we now want to move forward with Entanet, utilising their broad range of services for further projects that we have planned. We are now able to offer to our client base a significantly upgraded package. Now we can offer the advanced features of a full CGI capability and front page extension support, in addition to supporting PHP and SSI. All of this provides professional and functional web sites for everyone, and it is absolutely free.'
