The Isle of Man has beaten other top quality offshore jurisdictions such as Jersey, Guernsey, Dublin and Luxembourg to win the "Best International Financial Services Centre Award" at International Investment's first Offshore Fund and Product Award ceremony.
According to reports from the Island, the winning jurisdiction was declared the 'centre with the greatest innovation, forward thinking and customer protection,' by a panel of judges including the Forsyth Partners, KPMG, Deloitte Consulting, Abacus, and the Fry Group.
The Manx-based companies that received awards include Fsharp's Internet offshore banking arm which won best Technology Service, and Royal Skandia was awarded two trophies for Best Life Group and Best Product Range (also Life).
Outside of the Isle of Man, other companies that did well include the Bank of Scotland Offshore which walked away with three trophies: the Save & Invest service was judged Best Banking Product of the Year; a Highly Commended Recommendation was awarded for Best Commitment to Service; and a Highly Commended recommendation was also awarded for the Best Overall Banking Group Award.
