The Isle of Man's Chief Minister Richard Corkill has been invited to visit India by the Confederation of Indian Industry to explore ways in which mutually beneficial investment opportunities between the two jurisdictions can be advanced.
According to Newsmann, the invitation was extended by the London-based residential director of the CII whilst on a two-day visit to the Island last week where he was reportedly impressed by the level of expertise demonstrated in the jurisdiction's banking and information technology sector.
He observed that the Isle of Man would be very attractive for many Indian firms wishing to extend their operations into the European market, though stressing that the Island needs to advertise itself to the businesses of the sub-continent.
The CII was created over a century ago and has nearly 5,000 full members companies with an additional 50,000 firms indirectly associated with the organisation according to Newsmann.
