Isle of Man-based companies have won ten awards out of a total 14 award categories in this year’s International Investment Fund and Product Awards, and in four awards five local companies were ‘highly commended’.
Notably, AXA Isle of Man, Fairbairn and Royal Skandia were declared winners in two categories each, while Anglo Irish Bank (Isle of Man), Lloyds TSB Offshore, HSBC Bank and Britannia International each won a category. Other Island businesses that were recognised and ‘Highly Commended’ include Bradford & Bingley and Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander International.
AXA Isle of Man took the awards for Best International Life Product and Best International Life Group. Fairbairn won the Best International Platform Provider and Best International Private Bank prizes. Royal Skandia scooped the Best Commitment to Service Award and the Best International Life Product Range Award. The other awards won by Manx-based firms included the Best Offshore Bank Provider, which went to Anglo Irish Bank IoM for its Privilege 12 month bond; Best Offshore Bank Product, won by Lloyds TSB Offshore; Best Offshore Bank Group, won by HSBC Bank International; and Best Offshore Structured Product Provider, which was given to Britannia International for its Optimum & Guaranteed Bonds.
"The success of Isle of Man-based companies at this prestigious awards ceremony is a clear reflection of the strength of our on-island institutions and of their commitment to providing clients with expert services and products," commented Manx Treasury Minister Allan Bell.
"These awards also endorse the Isle of Man’s financial services industry, the leading segment of our thriving economy, and further enhance the Isle of Man’s reputation as a centre of excellence. Across all sectors the Island pays particular attention to quality of service, value for money, innovation and speed of response, enabling it to be positioned at the forefront of the global arena," he added.
International Investment is the UK’s leading offshore publication, published by Incisive Media. The International Investment Fund & Product Awards are the most high-profile and prestigious awards ceremony for the offshore world. They took place at the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel, London on the evening of Wednesday 16th May, and were attended by more than 300 leading financial services providers.
