Isle of Man Finance has announced the appointment of investment consultant, Brian Donegan to the newly created post of business development manager.
In a statement, the Treasury Department division announced that Mr Donegan, who for the past two years has been working in the inward investment field with Manx Telecom and the E-Commerce Division of the Chief Secretary's Office, will have responsibility for promoting and advising on the development of the Island's financial services sector.
"In particular," Isle of Man Finance announced "as part of his role, he will be evaluating how the Isle of Man can best meet the requirements of the international financial services industry while ensuring our position as a desirable, secure and prestigious jurisdiction continues."
Drawing attention to the "robust business case" which the jurisdiction has to present, Mr Donegan observed that:
"The recent changes in the offshore financial world have presented us with many challenges and with change comes opportunity...I look forward to helping develop and implement a winning strategy that will maximise our existing business and grow our inward investment opportunities."
