Following the decision by the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee to increase Bank Base Rate to 5.50% on Thursday, 10 May 2007, Zurich Bank International has announced an immediate increase in the interest rate on its easy access Zurich Reward Account to 5.75%.
Graham Sheward, Managing Director of Zurich Bank International, said, “Following the widely expected increase in the Bank of England Base Rate we are once again pleased to announce an immediate increase in the interest payable on the Zurich Reward Account. This commitment to follow the Bank of England rate increase of 0.25% will be well received by our customers.”
The Zurich Reward Account is an instant access account with unlimited, penalty-free withdrawals. The account also guarantees to pay interest of 0.25% over the Bank of England Base Rate until at least 30 June 2007. A further guarantee ensures the rate will be within 0.25% of the Bank of England Base Rate until 1 January 2010.
