A new study conducted by UNESCO and the OECD has revealed that the tax burden on Irish workers is the third lowest in the OECD.
The survey, released last week, also revealed that that the Republic saw a larger fall in its tax take than any other OECD members, at 6.2% for the average worker with two children over the past two years.
Reporting on the OECD/UNESCO joint survey last week, the Irish Independent welcomed the fact that despite fears over declining Irish competitiveness, the country's labour costs were ranked twelfth lowest in the OECD in 2002.
