Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern travelled to Slovenia for a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Janez Janša on Tuesday. While in Ljubljana the Taoiseach also paid a call on President Danilo Türk.
The meeting with Prime Minister Janša, who currently holds the position of President of the European Council, focused on bilateral relations between Ireland and Slovenia, the ratification of the EU Reform Treaty and the Slovenian Presidency’s preparations for the Spring European Council.
The package of measures recently proposed by the European Commission to promote energy savings and combat climate change, and renewal of the Lisbon Agenda which is designed to promote job creation and economic growth, were also discussed.
