Irish corporate law firm Matheson Ormsby Prentice was named European Law Firm of the Year by The Hedge Fund Journal at its inaugural awards ceremony on 7 March 2007, which celebrated the leading service providers to the European hedge fund industry.
The winning firms were chosen for their market presence and reputation in the hedge fund sector following extensive client and peer research.
The Asset Management Group at Matheson Ormsby Prentice acts for six of the 10 largest hedge fund managers in Europe, including the three largest. The firm has one of the largest hedge fund practices in Ireland, and is the only Irish law firm with funds lawyers based in London servicing the hedge fund community there.
Commenting on the accolade, Michael Jackson, partner and head of the firm’s Asset Management Group, stated:
