The Isle of Man received a ringing endorsement from the international fund industry recently, picking up awards in nine out of fourteen categories at the International Investment and Offshore Fund and Product awards, held last week in London.
One of the categories topped by the jurisdiction was Best International Financial Centre, with individual island-based firms receiving the other eight awards.
This means that the IoM has now recieved awards from the international financial press for twelve straight years, according to the Treasury's International Services Division.
Commenting on the result, Treasury Minister Alan Bell told the Isle of Man Online that: "This is the third year running that the Isle of Man has received this particular award and it once again endorses the contribution made by those institutions and individuals who comprise the Island's financial services centre and who add so much to the well-regulated, progressive and service-orientated culture which flourishes here."
Assessed by an independent panel of judges, the Best International Financial Centre award acknowledges a jurisdiction's ability to adapt to changing market and regulatory conditions by introducing flexible yet strong legislative measures.
