Isle of Man based internet hosting provider, Netcetera has become a full member of the London Internet Exchange, LINX, the Isle of Man Online revealed this week.

LINX was founded in 1994 and is a not-for-profit partnership between global based internet service providers. It provides physical interconnection for members to exchange internet traffic through co-operative peering arrangements, and is the largest internet exchange point in Europe.

According to Netcetera, its involvement with LINX will achieve a "significant improvement in system performance". The firm has also established partnership arrangements with high profile names such as Microsoft, Telewest, NTL and Yahoo Europe, with further negotiations in the pipeline.
