The Manx Insurance Managers Association (MIMA) on Wednesday unveiled the expert speaker panel and agenda for the 'Isle of Man Captive Conference 2008', the first in its annual series of captive conferences hosted jointly with Isle of Man Finance, which will take place in London on October 9, 2008.
The conference speakers, who have been selected for their experience and knowledge of the sector, will share their views on a wide range of issues affecting the captive industry, including current challenges and opportunities, scope and scale of growth, the impact of captives on the general market place and what makes the Isle of Man a key domicile for captive insurance.
Delegates will be welcomed by Isle of Man Treasury Minister Hon Allan Bell MHK, and the conference will be chaired by John Spellman, Director of Isle of Man Finance.
Derek Patience, chairman of MIMA, commented that:
“We are anticipating an interesting debate from the impressive line-up of speakers at our first London-based conference. We hope it will provide those working in and around captive insurance with an insight into the future of the industry and how they can benefit from domiciling in the Isle of Man.”
John Spellman, Director of Isle of Finance, added:
“I look forward to chairing this exciting meeting of expert minds from the captive insurance sector. Isle of Man Finance is proud to be hosting this event which shows the Island to be at the forefront of innovation in the captive and wider insurance industry.”
