Isle of Man based bank Britannia International has struck a deal with the Manchester United football club to offer "Manchester United OffshoreSaver" Accounts to team supporters.
In announcing the new product, Britannia's Managing Director Dean Waddingham said: ‘We are delighted to join forces with Manchester United to promote this account. The club has a dedicated Island following many of whom, for practical reasons can’t show their support at matches."
Although the account is targeted at club supporters, it is available to all investors with as little as £250 to invest. In return, Manchester United football club will receive 1% of the total value of savings in the accounts as its share of the deal. The account will offer competitive interest rates up to 5.5% on deposits over £50,000 but withdrawals will be limited to £1 million per transaction.
