The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI) has announced that it will be hosting a presentation in Dublin on 6th June, on the issue of accounting for pension costs.
The event marks the publication by the UK Accounting Standards Board of a discussion paper entitled ‘The Financial Reporting of Pensions’.
The event is expected to be of interest to everyone involved in pensions accounting and is not limited to ICAI members.
In its fundamental review of pension accounting standards, the ASB’s discussion paper contains a number of new proposals that differ markedly from existing standards regimes.
The ASB expects that its final recommendations, revised in the light of comments on the Discussion Paper, will provide input to the long-term review of pension accounting under current international standards.
