An estimated 700 guests from global institutional investors, financial service institutions and high-growth corporates will join the Asian Financial Forum September 21 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The forum - the first of its kind hosted by the Government - offers a high-level platform for distinguished leaders and influential members of the global fiscal community to exchange views on trends and developments in Asian financial markets.

It comprises a plenary and policy dialogue session in the morning and three concurrent panel discussions in the afternoon.

In the morning session, People's Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan, Citigroup International Advisory Board Chairman and former World Bank President James Wolfensohn, and International Monetary Fund Counsellor Jaime Caruana will speak.

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Professor KC Chan will then convene a dialogue involving government representatives and other speakers from the region, to exchange views from public policy perspectives.

The three afternoon panels will focus on topics of common interest to the financial community, including investing in Asian growth, and Asian treasury and bond markets.

With a special focus on opportunities and challenges on the Mainland and in Asia, the sessions will cover asset and wealth management business, corporate fund-raising options, and Asian treasury and bond markets.
