Hong Kong and Shenzhen airports have signed a framework agreement on passenger facilitation and agreed to implement business co-operation projects, it was announced on Monday.
The projects include setting up flight information panels, transit passenger counters and passenger lounges for transit passengers, and strengthening the airports' ferry and road connections.
The second meeting of the task force on airport cooperation between Hong Kong and Shenzhen was held in Shenzhen on 19th May, and was co-chaired by Hong Kong Secretary for Transport & Housing Eva Cheng and Shenzhen Vice-Mayor Zhang Siping.
The task force received progress reports from two expert groups on airport rail links and business co-operation.
The consultancy study on the feasibility and economic benefits of connecting the two airports with a high-speed rail link is targeted for completion this year.
The expert group on airport business co-operation will continue to explore measures to facilitate cargo transfer between the airports, and examine co-operation initiatives.
