Hong Kong and New Zealand have agreed to resume negotiations on a closer economic partnership agreement, it has been revealed.
According to Hong Kong's Trade and Industry Department, the first round of meetings between the two will be held in late April or early May,
A preparatory meeting will be held in Hong Kong in March.
The agreement would have a wide-ranging scope with emphasis on trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, including early elimination of tariffs on all goods of Hong Kong and New Zealand origin, and a set of forward-looking rules of origin which could encourage two-way trade.
