The Hong Kong China Tax Society is set to discuss topical taxation issues with Chinese tax officials at an upcoming conference in Guangxi Province next month.
High on the conference agenda will be particularly complex issues of international taxation affecting firms conducting business in the region. The meeting will also give tax officials the opportunity to gain information on international tax systems, explained Paul Chow, the society's vice president and tax partner of accounting firm Grant Thornton, according to the Chinese daily Xinhua.
"Through the conference, the tax official may be able to consider the impact of taxation law and regulations on investors from the perspective of foreign investors when formulating tax laws," Mr Chow noted.
The Society has held the conference with officials from the China State Administration of Taxation annually since 1998.
