Heritage And Amlin Announce Insurance Partnership

by Amanda Banks, Tax-News.com, London

17 June 2010

Heritage Group in Guernsey and Amlin, a leading independent insurance group represented at Lloyd’s of London, have announced the formation of a new partnership to provide underwriting services.

The agreement has been reached with Heritage’s underwriting arm, Ortac Underwriting Agency, a subsidiary company of Guernsey-based Heritage, which specialises in underwriting general aviation insurance

Richard Tee, Chief Executive of the Heritage Group, said that the move was a boost for Guernsey’s position as a global insurance centre. “Heritage is naturally pleased with this development since Amlin is a highly respected and experienced practitioner with a wealth of knowledge in this specialised market.”

“The first class security associated with Lloyd’s and the Amlin brand, when combined with Ortac’s depth of experience, technical capability and established general aviation portfolio, will I believe prove to be a highly attractive platform to brokers and their aviation clients.”

“For Guernsey generally, it is encouraging that another leading insurance group has recognised the quality of the insurance services provided from the island.”
