Henderson Global Investors, provider of investment products and services to individuals and institutions in the Asia Pacific region, Europe and North and South America, announced last week that it is to launch a European Absolute Return Fund for private banks, institutions and high net worth investors. The objective of the fund will be to achieve capital growth by investing in European companies and their related securities. Henderson says the active use of hedging techniques and short sales are expected to reduce volatility.
The fund will be run by Stephen Peak, Director of European Equities at Henderson, and will be available to investors from 1 June onwards. Henderson’s European equities team currently manages in excess of US$5bn for institutional and retail clients.
Domiciled in the Cayman Islands, the fund will be listed on the Irish Stock Exchange. It will offer single pricing and be dealt on a monthly basis with a minimum initial lump sum investment of US$100,000. There will be a 1.5 per cent annual charge, with an additional performance fee of 20 per cent of absolute performance.
Stuart MacDonald, Divisional Director of Alternative Investments at Henderson, commented: 'The European Absolute Return Fund represents the latest in a series of alternative investment products being developed by Henderson, representing an opportunity for our leading fund managers to showcase their best ideas.'
